Season overview

Kudo Shinichi is a seventeen year-old high school detective whom people call the "Modern Sherlock Holmes." However, one night after a date with his childhood sweetheart, Ran, Shinichi witnessed an illegal trade and, caught off his guard, was knocked unconscious and fed a drug that was supposed to kill him... but he woke up and found himself shrunken to a seven year-old. In order to track down the men who did this to him, Shinichi hid his identity and lived with Ran, whose father happened to be a hopeless detective, and with that came a series of murders and mysteries that he must solve.

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro are riding a bonnet bus, driven by bus operator Mamoru Kajita and guided by Touko Natsume, through the mountains. On the bus already is the president of the Kagekura youth club, Takurou Yabe. The bus stops to pick up other travelers including Souchiki Okumura, who forces Kogoro out of his seat. He argues with Yabe then drinks from his water bottle and collapses dead from poison.

After riding through the ropeway on the opening day, Doumouto, who has disappeared from the ropeway cart, is later found dead on the goddess' hand.

While they were enjoying the pond’s colors something unusual happened… The headmaster died in the tea room, the same way as the legend.

As the day progresses, Kensuke explains to Kogoro that he’s been receiving threatening letters from someone with the initials “T.K.”
